Adobe has announced significant updates to its Firefly generative AI platform at the Adobe MAX London conference, introducing advanced image and video models, a forthcoming iOS and Android app, and new collaborative tools .
Central to the update are the new Firefly Image Model 4 and Image Model 4 Ultra. Image Model 4 offers rapid generation of high-quality images, suitable for everyday creative tasks, while Image Model 4 Ultra is tailored for projects requiring intricate detail and photorealism, such as human portraits and complex scenes.
In addition, Adobe introduced the Firefly Video Model, capable of generating 1080p video clips from text prompts.
Recognizing the need for mobility in creative work, Adobe announced the forthcoming release of the Firefly mobile app for iOS and Android devices. This application will enable users to generate images and videos directly from their mobile devices, offering professional-grade tools for content creation anytime, anywhere.
The mobile app is designed to integrate seamlessly with Adobe’s Creative Cloud ecosystem, allowing for a fluid transition between mobile and desktop workflows.
Adobe has also integrated third-party AI models from OpenAI and Google, including OpenAI’s GPT image generation and Google’s Imagen 3 and Veo 2. These additions provide users with a broader range of tools for experimentation and creative exploration.
Lastly, Adobe announced enhancements to its Creative Cloud suite. Illustrator now features generative shape fill and text-to-pattern tools, while Photoshop has improved capabilities for color adjustment and object selection.
