Electronic Arts Cuts 400 Jobs, Cancels Titanfall Universe Game
Electronic Arts (EA) has announced a significant organizational restructuring, resulting in the layoff of approximately 300 to 400 employees and the cancellation of a highly anticipated game set in the Titanfall universe (via Bloomberg).

Affected positions span various departments, including development, publishing, and quality assurance, with around 100 roles eliminated at Respawn Entertainment, the EA-owned studio renowned for franchises like Titanfall, Apex Legends, and Star Wars Jedi.
The canceled project, internally codenamed “R7,” was reportedly an early-stage extraction shooter set within the Titanfall universe. Respawn Entertainment confirmed via social media that two early-stage incubation projects have been shelved and that targeted team adjustments have been made across ongoing projects such as Apex Legends and the Star Wars Jedi series.
In a statement, EA stated, “As part of our continued focus on our long-term strategic priorities, we’ve made select changes within our organization that more effectively align teams and allocate resources in service of driving future growth.”
Despite the cancellations and layoffs, Respawn remains committed to its existing titles. The studio announced plans to continue supporting and developing new content for Apex Legends, as well as advancing the next installment in the Star Wars Jedi series.
The restructuring also includes leadership changes within Respawn. Daniel Suarez, formerly Senior Vice President of Operations, has been promoted to General Manager of the studio and will report directly to Vince Zampella, Respawn’s co-founder and CEO.
As of March 2024, EA employed approximately 13,700 people globally, with 66% of its workforce based outside the United States . The company has stated that it is providing support to affected employees, including exploring new opportunities within.

These developments occur amid broader challenges for EA, including lower-than-expected sales of EA Sports FC 25 and the underperformance of the new Dragon Age title, leading to a downward revision of the company’s annual earnings forecast earlier this year

$18,654—that’s what I earned last month by doing simple online work. It still surprises me how easy it was to start. I found this job while scrolling online, gave it a try, and now I get paid every week for easy work I do in my own time. It’s not one of those tricky things where you need to invest money or sell stuff. Just simple work, clear instructions, and real payments. If you're tired of fake promises and want something that actually pays, this one really worked for me.
