Zuckerberg Details Meta’s $65 Billion AI Plans for 2025
In a recent interview with Stratechery, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg detailed the company’s ambitious plans to invest up to $65 billion in artificial intelligence (AI) throughout 2025.

Zuckerberg emphasized that 2025 will be a transformative year for Meta, with AI at the forefront of its strategy. The company plans to deploy AI assistants across its suite of applications, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger, targeting over one billion users globally.
To support its AI ambitions, Meta is constructing a massive data center in Louisiana, projected to cost $10 billion. This facility will house over 1.3 million graphics processing units (GPUs) by the end of 2025, providing the computational power necessary for training and deploying advanced AI models like Llama 4. The data center is expected to bring approximately one gigawatt of computing power online within the year.
In addition to enhancing user experiences, Meta aims to revolutionize the advertising industry through AI. Zuckerberg introduced the concept of “infinite creative,” where AI systems autonomously generate, target, and evaluate advertisements based on business goals. This approach eliminates the need for manual creative input and demographic targeting.
Meta’s planned capital expenditures for 2025 represent a significant increase from previous years, highlighting the company’s strategic focus on AI. The $65 billion investment will primarily fund AI infrastructure, research, and product development.

Despite the substantial financial commitment, Zuckerberg believes that investing heavily in AI is essential to maintain technological leadership and drive future growth.
