2023 Mac mini M2 Won’t Power On? Apple Will Fix It for Free

Apple has launched a repair program for select 2023 Mac mini computers with M2 chips that may fail to turn on (via 9to5Mac). The issue affects a small batch of units made between June 16, 2024, and November 23, 2024.

Owners can check if their device qualifies by entering its serial number on Apple’s website. If eligible, Apple or an authorized service provider will repair the computer at no cost.

Customers can choose to:

• Book a repair at an Apple Store
• Visit an authorized service provider

The program doesn’t apply to any other Mac mini models and doesn’t extend the standard warranty, though it covers affected units for up to three years from the original purchase date.

If the Mac mini has unrelated damage that affects the repair, Apple may require that to be fixed first, potentially at the user’s expense.

Apple says repairs may be limited to the original country or region where the device was purchased. Yes, the program is available in Canada.
