Canada Strong Pass 2025: Unlock Free Travel, Parks, and Museums

The federal government has announced families and young travellers will be able to explore Canada this summer with free or discounted access to parks, museums, and train travel, thanks to a new nationwide promo called the Canada Strong Pass.

Running from June 20 to September 2, the pass offers a wide range of perks—no sign-up or physical card needed. Just show up and enjoy the deal. Here’s what’s included:

  • Free admission to all national parks, national historic sites, and marine conservation areas managed by Parks Canada.
  • 25% off camping and other accommodations at Parks Canada sites.
  • Free entry to national museums and the Plains of Abraham Museum for kids and teens aged 17 and under.
  • 50% off for young adults aged 18–24 at national museums and participating provincial/territorial galleries.
  • Free train travel on VIA Rail for children under 18 when accompanied by an adult, and 25% off for youth aged 18–24.

There’s no pass to download or show—visitors simply head to participating locations. However, it’s a good idea to check with sites in advance, as space may be limited and some events or special programs aren’t included. There’s no limit on how many times you can use the Pass during the promo period.

“We’ve seen an incredible show of unity from Canadians since the beginning of the year. Our Canada Strong Pass aims to make it even easier for families to choose Canada—to discover the beauty of our country, connect with nature, and enjoy our culture all summer long. Whether it’s visiting a national park they always wanted to see, exploring a museum, or booking a camping trip, families can create lasting memories together. Canadians are proud of what defines us, and this Pass is about celebrating a strong, united Canada,” said Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture and Minister responsible for Official Languages.

If you’ve already paid for Parks Canada admission or camping between June 20 and September 2, you’ll be contacted about prorated refunds, which is good. Similarly, previously purchased museum or VIA Rail tickets for children or youth will be reimbursed.

While most of the major attractions are federal, some provincial and territorial museums and galleries are joining in as well. Visitors should contact those sites directly to confirm participation and pricing.

How do we have a minister of Canadian identity in a government that claims there is no Canadian identity?
