Oakley Meta HSTN Smart Glasses Launching July 11 in Canada

Meta has unveiled its new pair of smartglasses, made in collaboration with Oakley. The Oakley Meta HSTN (pronounced HOW-stuhn) offer 3K video capture, eight hours of battery, Meta AI support and comes in a variety of models.

Oakley Meta HSTN arrives after Meta’s long-standing partnership with Ray-Ban. In an ongoing expansion partnership, EssilorLuxottica is launching across Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark. On July 11, Oakley Meta HSTN will be available for $499 USD (roughly $680 CAD).

Oakley Meta HSTN is launching with a full eight-hour battery life, powering all capabilities. With this pair of smartglasses, users can capture photos using their 12-megapixel camera and video in up to 3K resolutions. The new wearables are also able to play music, rendering audio through the frames of the glasses. When not in use, Oakley Meta HSTN provide 19 hours of battery on standby. With the charging case, Oakley Meta HSTN can offer up to 48 hours of battery and a 50 percent charge in 20 minutes.

With the adoption of Meta AI, users can take advantage of hands-free use. Oakley Meta HSTN can record and post to Instagram Stories by saying, “Hey Meta, take a video.” Meta AI can also answer questions about the weather or location. Of course, all of this is working off pre-existing Meta AI technology already used across Meta’s social platforms as well as the Ray-Ban Meta smartglasses.

At launch, Meta and Oakley are supporting numerous models to choose from. This includes five frame and lens colour combinations, many of which support the Transitions lenses.

Additionally, a limited edition pair of Oakley Meta HSTN will also be available, featuring gold accents and gold 24K PRIZM Polar lenses is being offered.

Oakley Meta HSTN is launching with a global campaign, featuring World Cup winner Kylian Mbappé and three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.
