CCTS Boots Two Telecom Providers for No Longer Playing by the Rules

The Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services (CCTS) has cut ties with two telecom providers—VIF Internet and Allo Telecom—after finding they no longer offer services that fall under the commission’s mandate.

Back in April, the CCTS warned it was planning to boot them from its complaint-handling program. After a public call for feedback and its own investigation, the watchdog made it official: both companies are out.

That means customers of VIF Internet (operated by Forum Virtuel de L’Industrie VIF Inc.) and Allo Telecom (run by Oxbo Technologies Inc.) can no longer file complaints through the CCTS if they run into problems.

The move signals that these providers either shut down, changed business models, or slipped outside the rules that require consumer oversight.

Back in January, the CCTS similarly dropped Velcom, CaspianWave, Radia Telecom, Querizon, Branchez.net, and World-Link Communications for no longer offering services under its mandate.

The CCTS is the country’s independent body that helps consumers resolve complaints about phone, internet, and TV services. You file a complaint about your provider to the CCTS, then it will mediate a solution with your telecom.
