Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Launches, New Final Trailer Available

Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is now available on PlayStation 5. Following its two-day early access period, the game is fully available to play. To commemorate the launch, the ‘Final Trailer’ for the game has been released.
It’s been a long five-year wait since the launch of the original Death Stranding on PlayStation 4. After development studio Kojima Productions went on to develop the Director’s Cut of the game, porting it over to platforms like PC, Xbox, and even Mac and iPhone, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach then became the priority. The game is now available on PlayStation 5
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a direct sequel to the original game. Picking up 11 months after the end of the first game, the United Cities of America are all connected. However, the rest of the world is still segmented. Tasked with expanding the chiral network to Mexico and other countries, Sam Porter Bridges returns to the scene with Lou to reconnect civilization.
Much like the original game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach features an eclectic cast. Norman Reedus returns as Sam Porter Bridges alongside Lea Seydoux as Fragile and Troy Baker as Higgs. The cast is expanded with the likes of Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, Luca Marinelli, Alastair Duncan, Alissa Jung and Debra Wilson. Director George Miller also makes a special appearance as a core cast member.
A new six-minute-long ‘Final Trailer’ has been released, coinciding with the game’s full launch. It’s worth pointing out that if you wish not to be spoiled by the game’s narrative, new biomes, characters, etc., best avoid watching.
To no surprise, the launch of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has been widely anticipated by fans. It’s one of the marquee releases for PlayStation’s second-party suite in 2025. The game is being published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, making it a pretty substantial release for the brand.
On top of launching the game, a new Death Stranding 2 limited edition DualSense controller is also available to purchase. In Canada, the controller is available for $99.99 while supplies last across major retailers.
Finally, the Death Stranding: Strands of Harmony concert will make its way to Canada in 2026. Celebrating the music across both games, the live concert is making a stop in Montreal on March 26 and Toronto on March 28. In partnership with SOHO Live, the Canadian concert tour dates incorporate Ludvig Forssell’s original soundtrack as well as tracks from Low Roar.
