Dyson has introduced a new version of its popular Airwrap hair tool in Canada, promising faster styling, better curls, and no heat damage. The device, called the Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x, is priced at $899.99 CAD and will be available starting October 23.
The biggest change is the upgraded motor, which Dyson says is its fastest and most powerful yet. The motor spins up to 150,000 times per minute—about nine times faster than a Formula 1 engine it says. That extra power doubles the air pressure, letting users curl and dry their hair faster without using damaging heat. You can get some intense volume from the Airwrap which can curl and dry your hair a the same time, for example.

New attachments like the AirSmooth2x create sleek looks, and the patented bristles on the Anti-snag Loop Brush 2x create snag-free styling, all while sensors adjust heat to protect your hair. It’s about creating exciting long-lasting styles using with smarter, more efficient technology,” said James Dyson, Founder and Chief Engineer, in a statement to iPhone in Canada.
The Airwrap 2x also has new smart attachments. Each tool has an RFID chip that tells the device exactly how much heat and airflow to use for different hair types. Users can connect to the MyDyson app to personalize their settings, including a new “i.d. curl” feature that automates the curling process with a single button press.
Dyson says the updated design is lighter and smaller than the previous version, making it easier to handle. The attachments include tools for all hair types, including a fast dryer, tension comb, diffuser, and new anti-snag brush. The tool comes in two sets: one for straight/wavy hair and one for curly/coily hair, each packaged in a Dyson-designed case.
The original Airwrap launched in the fall of 2018 and was priced at $649, but since then prices of everything have gone up big time.
