Leaked Image Reveals New MagSafe Ring on iPhone 17 Pro
Weibo user UnclePan has posted an image purportedly showing third-party MagSafe-compatible cases for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series, revealing a redesigned magnetic charging ring on the Pro models (via MacRumors).

The images not only shows the MagSafe ring moved slightly lower on the back of all models, but also the Pro variants sporting a noticeable gap at the bottom of the ring instead of a closed circle.
That break in the MagSafe array seems intended to keep Apple’s logo visible inside clear or MagSafe‑enabled cases, a necessary adaptation prompted by the larger, horizontally oriented camera hump rumored for the Pro models. Previous reports noted the rear camera module could stretch across nearly the device’s width, pushing the logo down to avoid obstruction.
Previously leaked videos of the iPhone 17 Pro MagSafe cases show the magnet array adjusted to align with the relocated logo, and the camera bump’s scale confirms a design departure from Apple’s recent vertical formats.
Despite the aesthetic changes, accessory compatibility appears preserved. Reports emphasize that existing MagSafe accessories should still attach securely to the iPhone 17 Pro series, suggesting that the update is cosmetic rather than functional.
Beyond MagSafe, the iPhone 17 Pro lineup is expected to introduce more notable hardware upgrades. The telephoto camera may now support 5× to 8× true optical zoom via a moving lens system, potentially explaining the enlarged camera housing. Internals could include Apple’s A19 Pro chip, up to 12 GB of RAM, and a shift from titanium to aluminum frames to balance durability and weight.

The iPhone 17 series is also expected to support the new Qi2 25 W wireless charging standard and compatible MagSafe charging at similar speeds. Leaked regulator filings show Apple may be readying dual‑voltage chargers supporting up to 45 W, potentially redesignated Qi 2.2 for faster wireless power delivery .
