iPhone 17 Pro May Launch with 256GB Base Storage
The upcoming iPhone 17 Pro is expected to start at 256GB storage for US $1,049, removing the 128GB tier while offering a price bump of just $50, according to Chinese leaker Instant Digital (via MacRumors).

This would align the Pro with the Pro Max tier, while placing a new entry-level price point of around $1,049 in the U.S., up from the current $999 for the iPhone 16 Pro.
Industry analysts, including Jefferies and GF Securities, suggest a general $50 price bump across the iPhone 17 series, largely due to rising component costs and new tariffs. Still, this move could be viewed by consumers as better value. Fr a relatively small extra cost, the Pro model would now include double the space.
The upgraded storage isn’t the only rumored enhancement. The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to debut the A19 Pro chip built on a 3-nanometer process and equip 12 GB of RAM, boosting speed and multitasking performance.
Other whispers hint at major camera overhauls, such as three 48-megapixel rear lenses, potentially offering 8× optical zoom and even 8K video recording, along with a 24-megapixel front camera. A new vapor-chamber cooling system could enhance sustained performance.
Design refinements might include a multifunction button replacing traditional controls, plus scratch-resistant anti-glare displays and stylish new colors like dark blue and orange.

While Apple has yet to confirm any of this, leaks are converging on a September launch, possibly between the 8th and 10th, with preorders starting shortly after and availability by mid-September.
