New Apple TV with A17 Pro Chip Coming Late 2025
According to a report by MacRumors, the next Apple TV 4K with A17 Pro chip for console-class gaming, AI features, and stronger wireless capabilities is set to launch later in 2025.

The A17 Pro is significantly more powerful than its predecessor. It features a six-core CPU and an advanced GPU that supports ray tracing and mesh shading. The chip is also built using a 3-nanometer process that enhances both performance and energy efficiency.
One of the most compelling features made possible by the A17 Pro is Apple Intelligence compatibility. This means the new Apple TV could gain access to on-device AI features along with enhanced Siri interactions, though how Apple plans to integrate these offerings into the living room experience remains uncertain.
Performance capabilities also suggest the Apple TV 4K may handle console-quality games with ease. The chip already enables gaming titles such as Resident Evil and Death Stranding on other Apple devices, and bringing that power to Apple TV could usher in a more immersive gaming experience.
Reports indicate Apple may replace Broadcom components with its own custom Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip, possibly supporting Wi-Fi 6E or even Wi-Fi 7. This advancement would enhance smart home integration and future-proof the device for next-generation wireless standards.

The refreshed Apple TV could make its debut alongside the iPhone 17 series in September, or arrive in the final months of the year as part of Apple’s broader hardware rollout.
Across Apple’s ecosystem, multiple devices are expected to receive hardware refreshes following a code leak. Alongside the Apple TV, the HomePod mini and iPad mini are set to receive more capable chips to improve performance while maintaining efficiency.
