PS Plus Game Catalog August 2025: Spider-Man, Mortal Kombat 1, and More
PlayStation Plus members are in for a blockbuster month with nine exciting new titles arriving in the Game Catalog on August 19. Subscribers who use the Extra and Premium tiers will gain access to major franchises.

This month’s PS Plus game tiles include Mortal Kombat 1, the remastered Marvel’s Spider-Man, the poetic Sword of the Sea, Earth Defense Force 6, Unicorn Overlord, Atelier Ryza 3 with its Secret Key expansion, Indika, Harold Halibut, and Coral Island.
Fans of survival horror and retro thrillers are in luck too. PlayStation Plus Premium members will also get enhanced versions of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Nemesis as part of the Classics Catalog.
A particularly notable addition is Sword of the Sea, a day one release by the creative mind behind Journey and ABZÛ. This poetic surfing adventure features a fluid Hoversword that blends skateboarding snowboarding and surfing across sands and waters
Mortal Kombat 1 returns with cinematic flair and reimagined lore. The new story casts Fire God Liu Kang in a world where he seeks peace in Earthrealm but discovers untold rivalries along the way. Developers have updated the combat system to include Fatal Blows Breakers and inventive Fatalities.
Spider-Man fans can swing through New York again with the Remastered edition on PS5 or the Game of the Year Edition on PS4. The story follows an experienced Peter Parker juggling personal challenges while protecting the city’s millions.
If alien force battles are more your style Earth Defense Force 6 delivers third person shooter thrills with co op modes as humanity fights back in a devastated world.
Not to be overlooked are strategy storytelling and immersive world building titles. Unicorn Overlord brings Vanillaware’s artful fantasy tactics to the table. Atelier Ryza 3’s Secret Key adds more alchemy adventure and legacy soundtrack content.

Premium subscribers will also receive a Game Trial for Death Stranding 2 On the Beach. Players can explore up to five hours of gameplay with progress and trophies carried over if the full game is purchased.
This August update arrives just after the Essential tier added three free titles i.e. Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero One’s Justice 2, alongside exclusive 15th anniversary avatars.
