iOS 26 to Unlock Faster Wireless Charging for iPhone 16 Models

Belkin ultracharge qi2.

Apple hasn’t officially said anything yet, but the latest iOS 26 beta suggests the iPhone 16 lineup is getting support for the new Qi 2.2 wireless charging standard—with one exception: the iPhone 16e, reports MacRumors.

With iOS 26, the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max can charge wirelessly at up to 25W speeds using any Qi 2.2-certified charger. Before this, only Apple’s own MagSafe Charger could hit 25W, while third-party Qi pads topped out at 15W. Qi 2.2, also known as “Qi2 25W,” finally levels the playing field for accessory makers.

Accessory maker Belkin has already rolled out three Qi2 chargers this week:

  • UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock
  • UltraCharge 3-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger
  • UltraCharge 2-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger

In the fine print, Belkin claims each can take an iPhone 16 from 0% to 50% in 25 minutes—matching Apple’s official MagSafe numbers.

The new charging support is available now in the iOS 26 beta and is expected to go public when Apple releases the update this September. This will bring a real benefit to iPhone 16 thanks to a software update. While Apple hasn’t confirmed certification yet, the addition makes it almost certain the upcoming iPhone 17 series will support Qi 2.2 wireless charging speeds too.

Zactly..and also at 25W get ready for them to turn into hot bricks that will surly degrade the batteries real quick with all that excess electromagnetic heat..pass!

Except Apple and even Samsung deny this is detrimental to the battery life.

I put my iPhone 15 Pro Max on my car trunk yesterday and was surprised to find it was sticking magnetically, first time I noticed that it could do that.
