Acclaim Returns With Showcase Planned on September 10

Acclaim is returning in a big way this year, announcing that it is hosting its first-ever Play Acclaim showcase next month. On September 10th, the company will reveal its new games after over 20 years.

The publisher announced its revival earlier this year and is now ready to unveil some of its new games. In a teaser video, we can see brief snippets of what looks like a demon’s face, some iconography, and symbols. “On September 10th, 2025, Acclaim will reveal new surprises, exclusive content, and announcements you won’t want to miss,” the video’s description reads. “This is your first glimpse of what’s ahead.”

A press release goes on to state that there will be “big things to come.” Acclaim goes on to announce that it’s working “to bring players unforgettable, lasting experiences that will keep them coming back for more”.

Unfortunately, there’s not much else to go off of. There’s been no additional information regarding what sort of games will be revealed by Acclaim next month or the scope of the new titles.

For the uninitiated, Acclaim is a New York-based publisher which originated back in 1987. The publisher is responsible for hit franchises like the Burnout series as well as NBA Jam. While the publisher released some popular titles in the late 90s and early 2000s, Acclaim was met with financial turmoil in 2004.

The company ultimately had to close many of its studios and file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the US. Rod Cousens acquired the former Acclaim Studios Cheltenham and Acclaim Studios Manchester development studios and their unfinished products. Other pieces of the company were acquired by companies like Fund4Games, THQ, and Throwback Entertainment.

Acclaim Inc. is now being led by Russell Binder, Mark Caplan and Jeff Jarrett. Graffiti Games CEO Alex Josef has been appointed to the position of CEO.
