Hollow Knight: Silksong Launches Today, Here’s When You’ll Get to Play

Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight: Silksong has long been in development, becoming one of the most anticipated games in contemporary games. Today, Thursday September 4th, the game finally launches across all platforms.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is a Metroidvania, originally conceived as a piece of DLC for Hollow Knight. However, it quickly grew in scope, becoming its own standalone experience and true successor to the 2017 title. In Hollow Knight: Silksong, players follow Hornet, the former princess of Hallownest. Captured and taken to Pharloom, players will find themselves in an interconnected world, filled with deadly enemies and bosses.
The game is expected to expand on Hollow Knight’s traversal and combat mechanics. From the trailers, it appears as though Hornet moves faster and is more agile. With a needle-based weapon at her disposal, it will be interesting to see how combat is expanded from its light Soulsborne system in the original. Hollow Knight: Silksong also adds a quest system for streamlined exploration.
