Sonos Voice Control Now Supports Philips Hue Lights

Sonos and Philips Hue are teaming up so you can control Hue lights with Sonos Voice Control on mic-enabled Sonos speakers.
Starting in September, you’ll be able to turn lights on/off, dim or brighten, change colour or colour temperature, launch Hue scenes, and even control compatible smart plugs—hands-free.
“We built Sonos Voice Control to make controlling your music with your voice faster and easier than ever before, all with the privacy of your data staying right on your speaker,” said Nathan Hart, Senior Product Manager at Sonos. “By bringing it together with Philips Hue, we’re making it just as easy to transform lighting as it is to control music—helping users create rich, connected experiences across their home.” he told iPhone in Canada.
Sonos says voice processing happens entirely on the speaker with no cloud processing, no recordings, and no internet required, aiming for faster responses and more privacy. The feature rolls out globally in US English and French (everywhere except China).
Sonos Voice Control is available on the Sonos One, Era 100, Era 300, Move (and Move 2), Roam (and Roam 2), Beam (Gen 1 & 2), and Arc.
Philips Hue is rolling out a new Hue Bridge Pro, a cheaper Hue Essential lineup, revamped LED strip lights (including the spot-free OmniGlow), more Festavia outdoor string lights, and updates to Hue Secure (video doorbell and plug-in chime). AI features in the app continue to expand. Below are the North America release windows that should include Canada:
September 2025
October 2025 (Later this year, all Hue Secure camera and doorbell users will get 24-hour video history for free, a feature that was previously only included with a paid subscription.)
November 2025
December 2025
March 2026
