Legion Go 2 to Launch in October, Here are the Official Specs

During IFA 2025, Lenovo officially revealed the specs of its upcoming Legion Go 2 handheld. It came at a welcomed time considering the company announced that the handheld gaming PC will be releasing sometime in October.
Largely, the Legion Go 2 looks the same as its predecessor. It maintains the 8.8-inch display size as the original Windows 11-based gaming handheld. While maintaining the overall look and feel of the device, the weight has been increased by 10 percent. It’s also slightly thicker than the original, now 11.64 x 5.38 x 1.66 inches. Lenovo has baked in a fingerprint reader into the Legion Go 2’s power button.
However, Lenovo has made the jump from an IPS screen to OLED. Without a doubt, this is a great upgrade, but it does come with a few caviats. While the new display will feature 144Hz refresh rate with VRR, the resolution is taking a bit of a dip from 1600p to 1200p. However, with the adoption of OLED, images will have better contrast with colours able to pop off the screen. Deep blacks will likely be more common as it historically is with an OLED.
Powering the Legion Go 2 will be two chipset options. The base model will be powered by the AMD Ryzen Z2 processor and will feature up to 32GB of RAM (8,000MHz) and 1TB of SSD storage. However, there will also be a configuration option, featuring the AMD Z2 Extreme, with 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of SSD storage. For comparison’s sake, the original Legion Go offers the use of AMD’s Ryzen Z1 and Ryzen Z1 Extreme chips.
Lenovo is also giving the Legion Go 2 a larger battery, upgraded to 74Wh. This is up drastically from the 49Whr on the original, so users are looking at nearly a 50 percent increase in capacity.
Lenovo has also confirmed that the Legion TrueStrike controller has also been refined to provide a smoother feel and improved ergonomics. There are three programmable buttons to use and customize based on your preferences. The company also confirms the new controllers are backwards compatible so you could use them on the original Lenovo Go.
While Canadian pricing and specific release date have not been revealed, the Legion Go 2 will launch with an MSRP of $1,049 (around $1,448 CAD).
