Apple TV+ Series ‘The Studio’ Dominates at Emmys as ‘Most-Winning Series’

Apple walked away from the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards last night with a record-breaking 22 awards. The company was awarded wins for its Apple TV+ series, like The Studio, which was the most-winning series overall this year and the most-winning freshman comedy in history.
The Studio was recognized as the year’s ‘Outstanding Comedy Series’ at the award ceremony. The series, which places a satirical look at the Hollywood filmmaking industry, saw star, creator and executive producer Seth Rogen win his first Emmy award for ‘Outstanding Lead Actor.’
The series also won for ‘Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series’ and ‘Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.’ Bryan Cranston scored a win for ‘Outstanding Guest Actor’ while other awards for The Studio included ‘Outstanding Production Design’. ‘Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series’ and six other awards.
“It’s an incredible honour to see this milestone for The Studio,” said Jamie Erlicht, Apple’s head of Worldwide Video, in a press release. “Tonight’s wins — from Seth and Evan’s sharp comedy, to Britt and Tramell’s powerful work on Severance — show how great stories connect with audiences everywhere. Huge congratulations to all of tonight’s nominees and winners. Your creativity keeps us inspired.”
The Studio wasn’t the only major winner under the Apple TV+ umbrella last night. Severance, which attended as its second season aired on the streaming service this year, was also recognized. Britt Lower earned her first Emmy for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama’. Additionally, Tramell Tillman also scored his first Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actor’. Other awards include Merritt Wever winning ‘Outstanding Guest Actress’, ‘Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program (One Hour)’, ‘Outstanding Cinematography for a Series (One Hour)’ and three others.
Finally, Apple TV+ series Slow Horses walked away with the ‘Outstanding Directing for a Drama’ for its fourth season last night.
Apple Original films, documentaries, and series have now earned 620 wins and 2,816 award nominations. This includes the multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy Ted Lasso.
