Google Maps Adds Novel Easter Egg Tied to Shaboozey
Google Maps is celebrating the runaway success of Shaboozey’s chart-topping track “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by introducing a quirky interactive feature tied to the song.

When users search for Shaboozey, the Google Maps interface “wobbles” as if tipsy, mimicking the playful vibe of the song. Reddit users first noticed the behavior, sparking curiosity among fans about this unannounced Easter egg.
The song by Shaboozey became a cultural phenomenon after it tied “Old Town Road” record for most non-consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In doing so it cemented its place in music history.
Google appears to be acknowledging that achievement with this Maps feature that subtly alters the screen experience. The effect comes into play when Shaboozey is searched within Maps suggesting Google built a response to the song’s widespread popularity. It is not clear whether Google will extend similar effects to other songs or artists but the Shaboozey case is unique so far.
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has enjoyed global chart success including in the US, Canada, Australia and many European countries. The song was released in April 2024 and has held the number one spot for nineteen non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 matching “Old Town Road” for the record.
This kind of Easter egg follows past Google experiments with playful visual surprises tied to memes holidays or pop culture moments. Though unofficial it is resonating well with fans.
Google’s move appears to engage with the song’s fan base in a public way demonstrating how tech platforms increasingly interact with pop culture beyond just streaming or social media.
