Xbox PC App Now Aggregates Games From Other Storefronts, Including Steam

Microsoft is launching an update to its Xbox PC app, adding an aggregated library that spans storefronts like Steam, Battle.net, and more. The Xbox PC app now acts as a launcher for titles you have installed on your PC and gaming handheld.
The company has been testing this feature with Xbox Insiders over the past few months. The wider rollout is in effect now, allowing the general playerbase to have access to the updated app. Additionally, the update includes cross-device play history and improved app functionality. The update is rolling out to all Xbox PC app users this week.
The aggregated library brings together your collection of PC games under one roof. With the new update, you can go into the app and curate the PC storefronts you’d like to have listed within the Xbox app. Going into the ‘Settings’ menu and ‘Library & Extensions,’ you can toggle any eligible storefronts to be on or off, giving you complete control over the games that appear.
On top of an aggregated library, the latest update includes a new My Apps section within the Xbox PC app. This enables players to quickly install third-party apps like browsers and other storefronts. This feature primarily speaks to PC gaming handhelds as it streamlines new app installation methods.
Microsoft is also adding cloud-playable games and game history to the Xbox app later this month. Launching “later in September,” your cloud-playable games will follow you across all eligible devices. Once released, a new ‘Jump back in’ list will be accessible from the Home screen of your console, PC or gaming handheld.
