Sonos Just Jacked Up Prices in Canada—Arc Ultra Hits $1,449

iPhone in Canada price checks show Sonos has raised the cost of several of its products in Canada, following similar increases in the U.S. tied to tariffs.

Here’s how the new prices compare:

Now, not everything is up in price. The Era 100 and Sonos Ace are at cheaper prices compared to their original launches.

In its Q3 2025 earnings, Sonos said tariffs are driving up costs: “A few years ago, we undertook a significant effort to diversify our supply chain, which resulted in manufacturing of nearly all of our U.S.-bound products shifting to Vietnam and Malaysia. Our reliance on China for U.S.-bound products is limited to a few accessories like speaker stands and our Sonance co-branded products which are a very small part of our total business.”

In the last quarter, Sonos had to pay an extra $2.1 million US in tariffs when selling its products, and it actually spent $3.5 million in cash to cover those fees when shipments arrived.

Looking ahead to the next quarter, Sonos expects those costs to more than double, with about $5 million US in added expenses and as much as $10 million US in cash needed to cover tariffs when products land. Ouch.

To offset tariffs, Sonos told investors it is planning “pricing adjustments” later this year across its product lineup. It also said it would look at promotional changes, shifting production between Vietnam and Malaysia, and keeping a tight lid on expenses.

Now, we’re not sure how these tariffs are affecting electronics in Canada to justify these price increases, but we’ve reached out to Sonos for comment, and will update this story accordingly. Maybe during Black Friday these prices will drop back down to their “regular” prices? That’s a big ouch for consumers.

Recently, Sonos offered up to 30% upgrade promos for existing customers and those that jumped on those deals likely saved ahead of these price increases.

Thanks Scott

Until I hear a better explanation, my guess is that Canada, as well as any other non-US country where prices might increase, are being used to subsidise/soften the US price increase.

Any company that raises prices in CANADA to cover the American tariffs can get f*#%ed. I’ll never buy another new Sonos product again.

There are NO TARIFFS ON ELECTRONICS IN CANADA. That’s all TACO, all USA. Using us to subsidize his failing economy is disgusting.

Canada should not have been impacted by US tariffs. Goods bound for Canada if done properly, should not incur any us tariff cost, just like the iPhones bound for Canada don’t. So this is a weak excuse by Sonos
