How to Personalize the Collections Tab in Photos App [VIDEO]

Apple has published a new support video on its YouTube channel, detailing how you can personalize the Collections tab in the Photos app starting in iOS 26.

Follow the steps below to change the way your thumbnail layout appears, or to reorder your collections so you can view your photos and videos the way you like.

  • Go to the Photos app on your iPhone.
  • Tap Collections.
  • Tap the Layout and Reorder button at the top of the screen, then do any of the following:
    • Enlarge the size of the collection tiles: Tap the Large Grid button.
    • Reduce the size of the collection tiles: Tap the Small Grid button.
    • Show the default display: Tap the Mixed Grid button.
    • Hide the collection tiles: Tap Collapse All.
    • Reorder collections: Tap Reorder, touch and drag a collection into a new position, then tap the Done button.

If you want to hide the image tiles for a single collection, tap the Forward button. Tap the Forward button to stop hiding them.

By default, videos and Live Photos automatically play when you tap Collections. To turn autoplay off, tap your account in the top-right corner, then turn off Auto-Play Motion and Loop Videos.

Watch the following video to see the process in action.
