Starting in iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe, you can translate text and audio on the fly using Live Translation in Messages, during phone or FaceTime calls, and in-person using AirPods and the Translate app.

To use the Live Translation feature on your iPhone, turn on Apple Intelligence:
- Update your iPhone and make sure it’s compatible with Apple Intelligence.
- Go to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri, and turn on Apple Intelligence.
To use the feature, follow these steps:
- On your iPhone, tap the Phone app to start a phone call like usual.
- During the call, tap the More button, then tap Live Translation to translate your voice.
- Select languages for From and To. The first time you choose a language, the languages might take a few minutes to download.
- Tap Start Translation. You then hear spoken translations during the call. If you want to stop the translation, tap Translating [language] at the bottom of the phone screen, then Stop Translation.
