Bell Warns Google Pixel Phones Can’t Call 9-1-1, Fix Coming Soon [Update]

Bell has announced that Google Pixel devices are having trouble calling emergency services such as 9-1-1.

On Thursday afternoon, Bell said, “Important: Customers with Google devices from the Pixel 7, 8, 9 and 10 families are experiencing difficulties contacting 9-1-1. We are actively engaged with Google to identify the cause and resolve this issue as quickly as possible.”

The company added, “please ensure you have an alternative means to reach emergency services if necessary.”

Google’s Pixel 7 launched in October 2022, followed by the Pixel 8 one year later; the Pixel 9 debuted in August 2024, and the Pixel 10 in August 2025, marking Google’s shift to earlier annual release cycles for its flagship lineup.

Not being able to call 9-1-1 is definitely concerning, but it sounds like a fix is underway right now. Let’s hope it comes sooner rather than later.

Update Oct. 23, 2025: Bell provided an update just moments ago to say the issue has been fixed and now fully restored. The company was the first to identify the issue and implement a fix.

This sounds eerily familiar from 2009 on Rogers.
