Amazon Music Just Went Social—And Canada Gets It First

Amazon Music has introduced Fan Groups, a new feature that brings social interaction to the streaming experience. The feature launched today in beta exclusively in Canada (wow, Canada gets something first for a change!) for users on iOS and Android, marking the first country to get access before a wider rollout next year.
Fan Groups lets listeners join or create dedicated communities to share, discuss, and listen to music together. Within these spaces, users can chat about their favourite artists and genres, react to posts with emojis, and instantly stream songs recommended by others—without leaving the app.
In a statement to iPhone in Canada on Monday, Amazon Music said, “With Fan Groups, we’re turning music discovery into a shared community experience.”

At launch, several active communities are already live, covering a range of interests from indie rock and country to K-pop, Punjabi, and Francophone music. All groups are public, and anyone—including artists—can start new ones.
Amazon says the feature will expand to the U.S. and other international markets in 2026 following its Canadian beta phase. Nice to see Canadians get to test this out first. Let us know if you’re going to test out these new fan groups on Amazon Music.
