How to Work Out With iPhone and AirPods Pro 3 [VIDEO]

Apple has made the workout experience on the iPhone much more powerful with the addition of heart rate sensing in AirPods Pro 3. A new YouTube video shared by Apple explains how it works.

The feature lets you track your heart rate directly from your earbuds during any workout started from your iPhone. It also works with a wide range of third party heart rate monitors, so you are not limited to just Apple’s earbuds.

Once your compatible heart rate device is connected to your iPhone, you just open the Fitness app, choose your workout and begin. Your live heart rate will appear on your screen as you move through the session. After you finish, all of the recorded data flows into the Health app, where you can review trends, peak moments and how your heart responded throughout your exercise.

One of the most notable conveniences is that AirPods Pro 3 can track your heart rate even if you are wearing only one earbud. This makes them useful not just for structured workouts but also for outdoor runs, walks or any situation where you want to stay aware of your surroundings.

Before starting a workout, it helps to check a few things. First, make sure your AirPods or other heart rate accessory is properly paired with your iPhone. In the settings for your AirPods, you will find a toggle that enables or disables heart rate monitoring. It is worth keeping this on if you want your iPhone to use the earbuds as a sensor during exercise.

The combination of iPhone, AirPods Pro 3 and the Fitness app brings an impressive level of convenience to everyday exercise. Without needing a chest strap or an Apple Watch, users can now get live heart rate data directly from the earbuds they already wear for music and calls.
