Bootstrap Island Arrives on PlayStation VR2 in 2026
Players of PlayStation VR2 will soon get the chance to experience Bootstrap Island on console, as the developers have announced today that the realistic VR survival adventure will launch on PS VR2 in 2026.

The game’s journey to PS VR2 marks a major step for the title originally released on PC VR via early access, promising to deliver enhanced immersion and the full survival experience optimized for console players.
Bootstrap Island puts you in the shoes of Daniel, a 17th-century shipwreck survivor who awakens stranded on a hostile tropical island. The game rejects hand-holding. In this brutal world your survival depends on instincts, resourcefulness, and tough decisions. You must gather food and fresh water hunt wildlife collect wood build shelters and craft tools, all while dealing with threats.
The island is not static. Bootstrap Island features a dynamic open world environment where day and night cycles meet ever-changing weather, fire and water systems and fluid physics that influence how you survive. Each session randomizes resource placements weather patterns and wildlife behavior to ensure no two attempts feel the same.
The PS VR2 edition aims to elevate this survival tension with features designed specifically for the headset.
