New Telus-Powered Phone Plans Target Filipino Canadians

Toronto-based kini mobile has teamed up with Telus to launch new prepaid ‘Pinoy Plans’ aimed at Filipino Canadians who split their time, calls, and messages between Canada and the Philippines.
The new plans run on the Telus 5G network and are designed for people who live, work, study, or travel between the two countries. The idea is to make it easier to stay connected without needing multiple phones or separate plans.
Telus says the partnership focuses on helping Filipino Canadians stay in touch with family and friends back home.
“Telus is proud to support the Filipino community in Canada with connectivity solutions designed specifically for their needs,” said Kal Amery, Vice President, Partner Solutions at Telus, in a statement to iPhone in Canada on Tuesday. “Our partnership with kini mobile recognizes the importance of staying connected across borders, and we’re excited to deliver a service that helps Filipinos maintain those vital connections to family and home on our award-winning 5G network.”
Kini mobile says the plans are built around everyday use and flexibility, especially for customers who move between the two countries.
“The kini Pinoy Plan powered by Telus bridges the distance between two communities that matter most to our customers,” said Erin Li, Director, kini mobile, in a statement to iPhone in Canada on Tuesday. “We provide accessible, high-quality mobile plans with eSIM and physical SIM options that make staying connected to family, friends and opportunities in both the Philippines and Canada effortless.”
After reaching out about any ownership or investment in Kini mobile, Telus confirmed to iPhone in Canada in a statement “there is no ownership or investment.”
The prepaid plans come with no contracts or credit checks, giving users more control over their spending. Customers can keep both a Canadian and Philippine phone number on one device, make international calls and send texts, earn GCash cashbacks by meeting spending goals, and receive bonus data and other perks over time. Support is also available from Filipino customer service representatives.
Here are the plans right now with nationwide talk and text in Canada:
- $29/25GB + 100 long distance minutes
- $39/70GB + 100 long distance minutes
- $75/100GB + 100 long distance minutes
The long distance minutes are for calls to the Philippines, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
The kini Pinoy Plans powered by Telus are available now as eSIM or physical SIM options through kini mobile retail locations in Canada, online, and through partner agencies and retailers in the Philippines.
