Adobe Announces New AI Tools for Acrobat
Adobe has just announced a major update to Acrobat that lets users transform standard PDFs into full-blown presentations and even audio podcasts with just a few clicks. The process makes it much easier to turn boring documents into something more engaging.
These new tools are powered by generative AI and are designed to help students and professionals save time. Instead of manually copying and pasting text into slides, you can now ask the AI to do the heavy lifting for you.
The standout feature is the “Generate Presentation” tool. When you upload a document to a PDF Space, Adobe’s cloud-based workspace, the AI analyzes the content and creates a structured outline. From there, you can choose a design style, and Acrobat will build a complete presentation deck using Adobe Express.
You aren’t stuck with what the AI gives you, either. You can use natural language to tell the AI to change the tone, swap out images, or adjust the length of the slides. Because it integrates with Adobe Stock, the AI can even suggest high-quality photos and videos to make your slides look professional.
In a move that feels very similar to Google’s NotebookLM, Adobe has also added a “Generate Podcast” feature. This tool takes your documents and turns them into a conversation between two AI hosts.
It’s a great way to “read” a long report while you’re driving or at the gym. The AI hosts discuss the key points of your file in a natural way, making complex information much easier to digest. You can even jump to specific sections or ask the AI to focus on certain parts of the document.
Adobe is also introducing a more natural way to edit your files. Instead of hunting through menus to find the right tool, you can now use a chat interface. You can simply type commands like “remove page 3,” “find and replace this word,” or “add my signature.”
This chat-based AI can also handle more complex tasks, such as summarizing multiple documents at once or finding specific figures and charts across a library of files.
These new features are primarily available through Acrobat Studio, which is Adobe’s premium productivity tier. In Canada, Acrobat Studio is priced at $32.99 CAD per month.
