KeySmart’s New Tracker Does What AirTags Can’t: Full Android and iPhone Support

KeySmart officially released its highly anticipated Dual Band Smart Card today, offering a new level of flexibility for Canadians looking to keep tabs on their wallets.

Following the massive success of its original tracker, which sold over 300,000 units, this new version is now available to order as of today, priced at $39.99 USD.

One Card for Every Smartphone

The major draw of the Dual Band Smart Card is that it is no longer locked to a single phone type. During the initial setup, you can choose to connect it to either the Apple Find My network or Google’s Find Hub. If you decide to switch between an iPhone and an Android device later on, the card can be reset and moved to the other network.

“Engineered for universal compatibility, this single card works with either Apple Find My or Google Find Hub,” the company stated, highlighting that it provides a high-end tracking solution regardless of which smartphone you carry.

Slim Design and Advanced Technology

At just 1.8mm thick, the card is roughly the thickness of two credit cards. This ultra-slim profile allows it to slide into almost any wallet without the bulky “bump” often caused by a regular Apple AirTag. Apple seems more intent to let third parties come up with better wallet solutions.

Inside, the card features the new Atlas Gen 3 chipset. KeySmart notes that this architecture processes location data twice as fast as previous versions and is 30% more reliable. Because the chip uses 30% less power, the card can last for 11 months on a single charge.

Wireless Charging and Rugged Build

You won’t need to hunt for tiny replacement batteries with this device. It supports universal Qi wireless charging, so you can simply drop it on any standard charging pad to top it up for the year. Remember in the past when these wallet trackers were one-time use? That’s a thing of the past.

The card is also built to handle the elements with an IPX8 waterproof rating, meaning it can survive being accidentally dropped in water or heavy rain. For added security, it includes separation alerts that send an instant notification to your phone if you walk away without your wallet.

We’ll update this story accordingly with Canadian pricing and availability for the new Dual Band Smart Card, stay tuned.
