Galaxy S26 Leaks: Privacy Display, 60W Fast Charging, and More

Samsung is preparing to change how we think about smartphone privacy with its Galaxy S26 series. The highlight of the new lineup is the Flex Magic Pixel, which can narrow the viewing angle of the screen to block prying eyes.

As confirmed by Samsung in a new ad for its upcoming Galaxy S26 (via The Verge), when you look at the phone straight on, everything looks bright and sharp. However, if someone tries to look from the side, the Flex Magic Pixel makes the screen appears dark or completely black.

In addition to giving you a privacy switch, Samsung is also using “Galaxy AI” to make this feature work automatically. The phone can detect when you are doing something sensitive, like opening a banking app or typing a password. When it sees this, it can tighten the viewing angle without you needing to touch a button. Reports suggest you will have a lot of control over how this works.

You might choose to keep the privacy mode on only for specific apps, such as WhatsApp or your work email. You could even set it to only hide specific parts of the screen, like your notifications or your credit card details during a checkout.

While the privacy display is the big news, the Galaxy S26 series includes other major hardware updates. The phones will likely feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, which promises much faster performance for AI tasks.

For the first time in years, Samsung is also expected to increase charging speeds. Leaks suggest the S26 Ultra will support 60W wired charging, a big jump from the 45W limit we have seen for a long time. This means you can get a 75% charge in about 30 minutes.

The design is also getting a slight refresh. The S26 and S26 Plus will keep their flat screens but with even thinner borders. The Ultra model will remain boxy to fit the S Pen, but it is expected to be thinner and lighter than last year’s version.

Samsung plans to officially reveal the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra at its Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25.
