Xiaomi HyperOS 3.1 ‘iOS Bridge’ to Reportedly be Shown at MWC

Xiaomi is reportedly set to reveal its HyperOS 3.1 software update during MWC this year. The software is claimed to be an ‘iOS Bridge’ designed to improve the connectivity between its devices and the Apple ecosystem.

As first reported by Gizchina, Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3.1 software is said to heavily focus on cross-platform connectivity. With this in mind, the company aims to ensure proper connectivity with iPhone and other Apple products with the use of its new software update.

One of the major focuses of the HyperOS 3.1 software is to support iPhone call alerts on Xiaomi devices. It’s claimed that incoming calls could be displayed on connected Xiaomi tablets or PCs. Users can then manage them if they don’t have their iPhone next to them.

Additionally, it’s believed that HyperOS 3.1 features improved AirPod support. The new software could add smaller features like displaying battery levels on connected Xiaomi devices. The idea is to offer similar battery identification to what Apple provides within its ecosystem.

Finally, Xiaomi reportedly aims to offer direct file sharing between its devices and the iPhone. A fast, wireless tool is reportedly developed for HyperOS 3.1. This feature is claimed to support a method to share files between an iPhone and a Xiaomi without the need for a third-party app.

There’s currently no word on when Xiaomi is planning to announce these features during MWC. However, the Barcelona-based conference runs from March 2 to March 5. So, we won’t have to wait long to hear more about this supposed ‘iOS Bridge’.

Anecdotally, this year I reviewed the company’s newly-revealed Mijia Smart Audio Glasses. While the included app is supported on iOS, there were a couple of quirks during use. HyperOS 3.1 may be able to smooth the process and use between Xiaomi products and iOS soon enough.
