Zootopia 2 Canada Release: Disney+ Launch is Perfect for Spring Break

Canadian families looking for home entertainment during the upcoming spring break will have a major new title to stream, as Disney has confirmed its box office hit Zootopia 2 will debut on Disney+ on March 11, 2026.

The sequel follows rookie officers Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) as they go undercover to investigate the hidden corners of the animal metropolis. The streaming launch comes after a massive theatrical run where the film earned $1.85 billion USD worldwide, making it the highest-grossing animated release of all time and the eighth highest-grossing film in history.

The movie has seen significant critical success, earning a BAFTA Award for Best Animated Feature and a current Academy Award nomination. It also features a new original single titled “Zoo” performed by Shakira (she plays the Gazelle), who returns to the franchise alongside a score by composer Michael Giacchino.

The March 11 release date is strategically placed just before most Canadian school boards begin their annual spring break (Quebec started this week). With the film’s high audience ratings (including a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes) it is expected to be a primary viewing option for parents (desperately) looking for kid-friendly content during the 1-2 weeks off.
