How to Scan Documents into Notes on iPhone
Another handy tutorial video from Apple explains the process of using the Notes app on your iPhone or iPad to scan documents directly to the note you’re working on.
You can use the Notes app not only to scan documents, but also add signatures on your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps below to scan a document directly to your Notes app.
- Open Notes and select a note or create a new one.
- Tap the Attachment button, then tap Scan Documents.
- Place your document in view of the camera. In iOS 26, you can also select options such as flash or an image filter.
- If your device is in Auto mode, your document will automatically scan. If you need to manually capture a scan, tap the Shutter buttonShutter button or press one of the Volume buttons. Then drag the corners to adjust the scan to fit the page, then tap Keep Scan.
- Tap the Done button or add additional scans to the document.
In an open note, you can also tap the More button, then tap Scan to scan a document.
