Intel Announces New Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus Series Chips, Arriving March 26th

Intel has announced its new Core Ultra 200S Plus series desktop processors, spanning the 270K and 250K chipsets. The company promises to deliver improved architectural refinements for creators and players as the processors launch on March 26th.

In a news post, Intel confirms that the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K/KF Plus chips offer up to 900MHz higher clock frequency when compared to the already impressive Core Ultra 7 265K/KF and Core Ultra 5 245K/KF. Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K/KF Plus support four more efficiency cores, with the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus now up to 24 cores. The Core Ultra 5 250K/KF Plus sports up to 18 cores.

In addition, Intel is committing to supporting DDR5 7200 MT/s memory. Support for up to 6400 MT/s on non-Plus Intel Core Ultra 200S series CPUs is also being made available. Intel claims that the new processors can provide upwards of 15 percent faster gaming performance than previous Core Ultra desktop processors. For creators, the new CPUs are said to provide twice as much performance than competitors.

The Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus series will also feature the new Intel Binary Optimization Tool. As the company goes on to explain, the Intel Binary Optimization Tool allows for a “first-of-its-kind binary translation layer optimization” to improve native performance in “select games.”

Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus desktop processors will be compatible with all 800-series chip motherboards on the market. New motherboard models will arrive this year and will include support for 4-Rank CUDIMM memory. OEM support will also be available at launch as well.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus processors will be available globally through retail partners starting on March 26, 2026. The company states the chips will be made available, starting at $199 USD. iPhone in Canada has reached out to confirm Canadian pricing.
