Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness Now Available to Play on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack

Nintendo has announced that the long-awaited Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness is now available to Nintendo Switch 2 players. Through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness can be found through the GameCube Classics collection.
Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness was one of the very first games to be announced for the GameCube Classics library when it was first revealed for Nintendo Switch 2. At the time, Nintendo revealed it would be joining Pokémon Colosseum for players. Strangely, however, it has taken months for the title to arrive.
The game was first released on GameCube in 2005. Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness serves as a sequel and successor to the aforementioned Pokémon Colosseum. Narratively, the game is tied to its predecessor as well. In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, you play as Michael, who is investigating Shadow Pokémon, using the Snag Machine. Fighting and capturing Shadow Pokémon, players are then able to research them and get to the bottom of their origin. There are 83 different Shadow Pokémon to collect throughout the game.
Per the official game listing:
Using Shadow Pokémon, an evil organization has unleashed a sinister plot of world domination. With Eevee as your companion, and with the help of numerous friends along the way, you must fight against terrible foes and race against time to snag and purify the Shadow Pokémon and save the world!
The Nintendo Classics library expands with recent additions like Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance joining other GameCube titles like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, WarioWorld, Luigi’s Mansion, and Super Mario Strikers.
An annual subscription to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is available for $63.99 in Canada. Additionally, Nintendo offers a 12-month Family Membership, including up to eight accounts, for $99.99.
