Pokémon Champions Arrives on Nintendo Switch on April 8, Ahead of Mobile Launch

The Pokémon Company and developer The Pokémon Works have announced that Pokémon Champions is arriving on Nintendo Switch family on April 8th. The Nintendo Switch release arrives well before the game lands on iOS and Android.
Pokémon Champions gives players a random selection of Pokémon that players can take into battle in this pseudo-sequel to Pokémon Stadium. The game incorporates battle mechanics and encourages players to recruit Pokémon from other games within the Pokémon franchise.
At launch, Pokémon Champions is supporting Ranked Battles, Casual Battles, and Private Battles to take part in. In each mode, players can choose to participate in Single Battle or Double Battle formats. The latter of which sees players be able to engage in 2v2 battles. In either case, players earn Victory Points to use to improve a Pokémon’s stats and unlock new cosmetics for their trainer.
The Pokémon Company have confirmed that Pokémon Champions is compatible with Pokémon Home, Pokémon Go, and other games like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This means that players can move their pocket monsters from other games into Pokémon Champions and compete in the arena.

Pokémon Champions arrives on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 and is best described as a “free-to-start” title. To begin, players can purchase the Starter Pack bundle if they choose. This grants access to 50 additional Pokémon storage slots. You also get the Battle! (Trainer Battle) song from Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, 30 Teammate Tickets, and 50 Training Tickets. The game also offers a Premium Battle Pass and Membership to purchase if players choose.
The game is set to arrive on iOS and Android sometime later this year as well. However, The Pokémon Company has not announced a release date for the mobile version of the game yet.
