Public Mobile Quietly Slashes 5G Data and Bonus Minutes in Surprise Update

Yesterday, Telus-owned prepaid brand Public Mobile introduced new plans after its 50% off promo ended.

The revised plans were set to end on April 6, but later on in the day Public Mobile quietly tweaked the end date to April 1, as spotted by iPhone in Canada.

So that means today some revised plans have launched, specifically 5G offerings.

Ahead of the Easter long weekend, here is what’s available:

The 4G plans, which are not great, have labels that say they will end on April 6. The 5G plans now see their bonus long distance minutes axed, while data has also been slashed as well.

The 50% off promo was timely as it was tailored for the end of the Telus Q1 fiscal quarter, which companies always try to push for more last minute subscribers to pump up numbers ahead of earnings reports.
