Tubi Launches ChatGPT App for AI-Powered Movie Recommendations
Fox Corporation’s free streaming service, Tubi, has officially arrived on ChatGPT. The launch marks the first time a major video platform has integrated directly into the chatbot’s ecosystem, offering a new way for viewers to sift through a massive library of more than 300,000 movies and TV episodes.
The integration allows users to find content by describing their mood or specific interests in natural language. Instead of clicking through traditional categories, viewers can now type requests such as “@Tubi, find me a movie that feels like a fever dream but isn’t horror” or “@Tubi, suggest a thriller for tonight.” The AI then provides curated, interactive results that link directly back to the streaming platform.
To get started, users can find the Tubi app within the ChatGPT app store. Once enabled, the service can be summoned in any conversation by using the @Tubi handle. This move is designed to cut down on search fatigue by meeting viewers where they are already asking questions and seeking advice online. You can ask Tubi which movies are available with a certain actor and it will link you right to them.
Tubi is leveraging a personalization system trained on more than a billion monthly viewing hours from its 100 million active users. By moving this technology into a conversational interface, the service aims to help fans find niche titles and hidden gems faster than traditional scrolling allows.
