Gemini App Now Renders Live 3D Models

Google has announced that Gemini can now generate functional 3D simulations and interactive charts directly within the chat window. This move shifts the AI from being a simple conversationalist to a powerful visual thinking partner.

The core of this update is a focus on interactivity. Instead of just describing how the Moon orbits the Earth, Gemini can now render a live 3D simulation of the event. Users are not just passive observers; they can rotate the model, zoom in on specific details, and adjust variables in real-time.

For instance, if you are studying physics, you can ask Gemini to demonstrate Snell’s Law or the Doppler effect. The AI will pull up an interactive space where you can use sliders to change angles or speeds. Watching the visual representation react instantly to your input makes the learning process feel much more intuitive.

The update also introduces interactive charts. This is a significant step for anyone who works with data. Instead of looking at a flat bar graph, users can now explore data trends dynamically. If the numbers in the prompt change, the chart updates instantly.

This feature is powered by the Gemini 3.1 Pro model, which uses advanced reasoning to compile and render code, such as WebGL and JavaScript, at runtime. By sandboxing this code securely, Google allows the browser or app to act as a mini-engine for these simulations without needing any external software.

While this is rolling out to individual Pro and Ultra subscribers, Google has currently restricted these 3D features for Workspace and Education accounts. This is largely due to the massive computational power required to render these environments for millions of enterprise users at once.
