Galaxy Z TriFold Now ‘Completely Sold Out’ in Limited Markets

Samsung has confirmed that its Galaxy Z TriFold is now “completely sold out” following its limited market launch.

The company first unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold late last year and launched it in a handful of markets, including Korea and the United States. The device was Samsung’s very first tri-folding smartphone, an evolutionary step up from the Galaxy Z Fold series. The device sports two hinges that open to reveal a stunning 10-inch display, bridging the gap between a traditional smartphone and a tablet.

Samsung never launched its Galaxy Z TriFold in Canada. While operating sales in limited markets, the company ultimately discontinued the device in March. Now, Samsung has confirmed on its website that the Galaxy Z TriFold is unavailable for purchase. The device won’t be restocked, even for customers in the US who haven’t yet purchased one.

As of now, the product page states, “The limited-run Galaxy Z TriFold is now completely sold out.” Samsung now directs customers to purchase either the Galaxy Z Fold 7 or the Galaxy S26 Ultra, both being the latest and largest smartphones offered by the company.

The Galaxy Z TriFold was clearly a test product, designed by Samsung to flex its muscles. With a price tag of $2,899 USD (around $3967 CAD), it was never going to be a widely adopted product. Having the chance to go hands-on with the device in a couple of instances, it was a novel device that was undeniably cool to see in person.

The cover screen was a large 6.59-inch display, so even while folded, there was enough real estate for navigation and app usage. While unfolded, the device is 159.2 x 214.1 x 3.9mm, making it impressively thin. Samsung even threw in the same camera array as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It offered a 200-megapixel main lens, a 10-megapixel telephoto shooter, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera.

The Galaxy Z TriFold is a niche device, found in the pockets of select users in a few countries. Hopefully, the device will be refined and reexplored in the future.
