Samsung’s Upcoming Galaxy Glasses Leaked [PICS]
Leaker Steve H.McFly (@OnLeaks) has just shared what he claims to be the very first images of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Glasses, revealing a screen-free design powered by Gemini AI and Android XR.
The Galaxy Glasses, internally codenamed “Jinju,” represent a major collaboration between Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm. While we have seen high-end headsets like the Galaxy XR, these glasses are designed for the average person to wear all day, every day.
The most striking detail from the recent leaks is what is missing i.e. a display. Unlike the heavy augmented reality goggles of the past, the Jinju model looks like a standard pair of spectacles. It appears Samsung is prioritizing a lightweight frame, estimated to weigh around 50 grams, to ensure they feel like normal eyewear.
To make them even more practical, rumours suggest Samsung is partnering with traditional eyewear brands like Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. These glasses will likely feature photochromic lenses, which means they will automatically darken when you step outside into the sun, functioning as high-tech sunglasses.
Even without a screen, these glasses are packed with hardware. They are expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 platform, which is specifically designed for thermal efficiency in small frames.
Key features include:
- A 12MP Camera: A Sony IMX681 sensor with autofocus, allowing the glasses to “see” the world, scan QR codes, and take photos without you needing to pull out a phone.
- AI Integration: Deep integration with Google Gemini and the new Android XR platform. This allows for real-time translation, voice-activated smart home controls, and “Circle to Search” style visual identification.
- Audio and Mic: Directional speakers and a multi-mic array for hands-free calls and voice commands that won’t leak sound to everyone standing near you.
By skipping a display for the first generation, Samsung can keep the price competitive, rumoured to sit between $379 and $499 CAD. This puts them in direct competition with the popular Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. While Samsung has not officially confirmed a date, industry insiders point toward an August 2026 launch.
