Fitbit Air Arrives in Canada as Google’s Most Discreet Tracker Yet

Fitbit Air running

Google is adding a new entry to its wearable family: the Fitbit Air, a screenless, featherlight tracker built for round-the-clock wear. Priced at $129.99 CAD, it’s the smallest Fitbit to date, stripped of a display and focused on quiet, continuous health monitoring rather than wrist buzzes and glanceable notifications.

According to Google, the Fitbit Air is 25% smaller than the Fitbit Luxe, with a design optimized for all-day and overnight wear. All your health insights live in the Google Health app, which is part of what makes the battery life so impressive.

Health Features and Specs

Don’t let the size fool you. The Fitbit Air packs in sensors you’d expect from a much bulkier device. It monitors heart rate, sleep stages, and blood oxygen (SpO2), and adds Afib heart rhythm alerts and a skin temperature variation sensor to the mix.

Battery life reaches up to 7 days, and if you’re in a pinch, just five minutes on the charger gives you a full day of use. The tracker is water-resistant to 50 metres, weighs a mere 5.2 grams without a band, and syncs with both Android and iOS through the Google Health app.

Design and Bands

The Fitbit Air uses a swappable pebble design, letting you pop the core unit in and out of different bands in seconds. It ships with a recycled textile Performance Loop band, which you can see below (extras are $49.99 CAD):

If you want more bands, a silicone Active Band for workouts is also available at $49.99 CAD:

Also, there’s an Elevated Modern Band for a more polished, bracelet-like look, and it costs $64.99 CAD:

A Stephen Curry Special Edition is also available for $129.99 USD in the U.S., featuring a rye brown and orange Performance Loop band with a water-resistant coating and an interior print engineered to boost airflow during exercise (lock in, right).

The Fitbit Air looks to be taking on fitness trackers from Whoop, which also just go on your wrist and are meant to be worn 24/7. However, the Fitbit Air does not require an ongoing subscription as required by Whoop.

Availability

The Fitbit Air is available for pre-order now in Canada ar $129.99 CAD and comes with a three-month Google Health Premium trial. It’s offered in Fog, Obsidian, Lavender, and Berry and hits Canadian shelves on May 26.

There are some pre-order offers which include $50 in Google credit after your order ships. You can also get trade-in credit of up to $129.99 by trading in an old wearable or health tracker.
