Forza Horizon 6 PC Files Leaked by Microsoft
Microsoft has accidentally leaked the full PC version of Forza Horizon 6 nearly ten days before its official launch. This allowed pirates monitoring Steam’s backend to download the entire 155GB of game date before the blunder was corrected (via Windows Central).
Forza Horizon 6 is one of the most anticipated titles of the year, taking the famous racing festival to a fictionalised version of Japan. While the official release is set for May 19, 2026, this leak has effectively put the game in the hands of pirates before paying customers can touch it.
The issue stems from a “dev error” during the upload to Steam’s servers. Typically, pre-load files are heavily encrypted, acting as locked containers that only open on the official launch day. In this instance, the files were allegedly left wide open, lacking even basic DRM. This made it incredibly easy for hackers to bypass any remaining checks and create a playable version of the game.
While some users claim to be already cruising through the neon-lit streets of Tokyo, reports suggest that this leaked version is far from a smooth experience. Early players have noted frequent crashes and poor performance, even on high-end hardware.
Beyond the technical glitches, the leak is a nightmare for fans who want to experience the game’s surprises for themselves. Details regarding the full list of over 550 cars, specific map secrets, and campaign milestones are now flooding social media. Microsoft has already begun issuing copyright takedowns and banning content creators who attempt to stream the leaked footage.
