WhatsApp Plus Subscription Features Now Rolling out to iOS

WhatsApp Plus subscriptions are now rolling out to iPhone users. A number of iOS users have reportedly gained access to the premium subscription.
As first reported by WABetaInfo, a small assortment of iOS users are gaining access to WhatsApp Plus. The report claims that as access rolls out, more accounts are expected to gain access over the coming weeks.
As of the time of writing, WhatsApp Plus doesn’t appear to be available in Canada. In Europe, WhatsApp Plus costs €2.49 per month (roughly $3.40 CAD). Final pricing could differ by the time the subscription becomes available in Canada.
That being said, we can already glean what WhatsApp Plus offers users. On top of providing the same in-app functionality and messaging services, WhatsApp Plus adds features such as premium stickers, custom app icons, new app themes, premium ringtones, and the ability to pin up to 20 extra chats. This is a major expansion from the current ability to pin only three chats.
By managing extra chats, users could create a list containing all their coworkers. WhatsApp Plus can then allow that user to apply a theme across those conversations to better help organize them. To differentiate those work-based conversations from more social chats, specific alert tones or unified ringtones can also be applied.
WhatsApp Plus first rolled out on Android devices in April. Alongside WhatsApp Plus, Meta is also rolling out premium subscriptions across Instagram and Facebook.
