Ring Just Made 2K the Standard for Outdoor Security Cameras in Canada

Smart home Ring video doorbell mounted on a wooden wall with two circular indoor lights/spotlights around it, for home security video.

Ring is making 2K resolution the new baseline for its outdoor camera lineup, starting with second-gen versions of its Spotlight Cam and Floodlight Cam.

The Spotlight Cam (2nd Gen) runs on a dual-chamber battery and puts out 550 lumens of light. It’s priced at $239.99 CAD in Canada and works with a new Quick Release Ultra Battery Pack for anyone who’d rather swap batteries than deal with a charging cable. You can pre-order it today.

As for the Floodlight Cam (2nd Gen), it steps things up with 2,000 lumens designed to cover larger outdoor spaces like driveways, backyards, and garages. It comes in at $279.99 CAD, and is also available for pre-order today.

Both cameras move from 1080p to what Ring calls Retinal 2K, which improves clarity across the full field of view in both day and night conditions. With these two additions, Ring says 2K is now the entry point across its entire camera lineup, not just its premium models.

Beyond Canada, the cameras are also available for pre-order in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. Both ship June 3, 2026.
