Google Launches Gemini 3.5 Flash With Huge Speed and Coding Upgrades

Google confirmed the latest rumours at its annual I/O developer conference today, introducing the highly anticipated Gemini 3.5 model series.
The first release in the new lineup is Gemini 3.5 Flash, which Google calls its strongest coding and agentic model to date. It is specifically built to help users execute complex, agentic workflows.
According to Google, the new model delivers frontier-level performance for agents and coding at lightning speeds. Benchmark tests show that Gemini 3.5 Flash actually outperforms the company’s previous premium model, Gemini 3.1 Pro, on challenging coding and agentic benchmarks.
When it comes to performance versus speed, Google says Gemini 3.5 Flash is in a league of its own. It runs at four times the speed of comparable frontier models, while often costing less than half the price.
The model is generally available globally starting today across several major platforms. For everyone, the model is live right now inside the Gemini app and in AI Mode in Google Search, globally. For developers, it is accessible in Google Antigravity, as well as the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Android Studio. Enterprises and businesses can access it through the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
Google also gave a sneak peek at Gemini Spark, a new 24/7 personal AI agent built on the Flash model. Spark is designed to handle daily digital chores under your direction, and Google is beginning to test it with select users before launching a broader beta version for its top-tier subscribers soon.
Google added that this rollout is just the beginning, confirming that the Gemini 3.5 Pro model is coming next month. The pace at which Google has launched new AI features at I/O is truly impressive.
