PlayStation’s Big State of Play on June 2 Features Marvel’s Wolverine and More

PlayStation has announced an hour-long State of Play live stream broadcast on Tuesday, June 2, at 5 PM ET/2 PM PT. The company is now poised to kick off a week of festivities leading into Summer Game Fest.

On the PlayStation Blog, it was announced that the upcoming State of Play livestream will feature “more than 60 minutes of updates, announcements, and gameplay reveals from top studios around the world.” The presentation’s top-billed inclusion is a “closer look” at Marvel’s Wolverine. 

Hailing from Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Wolverine is the highly anticipated action-adventure game featuring the Canadian mutant, James “Logan” Howlett, aka Wolverine. The new sneak peek is said to include new glimpses at “Logan’s brutal and relentless combat, along with some new details.” Marvel’s Wolverine then launches on PlayStation 5 later this year on September 15th.

Aside from the inclusion of Marvel’s Wolverine, PlayStation hasn’t teased anything else that may be included.

The prospect of a State of Play running for over an hour excites many fans.  In the US, PlayStation has partnered with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema to broadcast the State of Play in select theatres. While Canadian fans obviously won’t be able to participate in an in-theatre experience, this strategy may indicate the scope of the presentation.

To tune in from home, the PlayStation State of Play will live stream on the official YouTube and Twitch channels. The broadcast will be in English, with Japanese subtitles available to those who prefer it.
