Google AI Certificate Launches in Canada
Google has officially launched its Google AI Professional Certificate in Canada, a program aimed at teaching practical, hands-on artificial intelligence skills that modern employers want. The launch follows previous digital training options, like the basic Google AI Essentials course.
According to Google, the conversation around technology has changed over the past year. Canadian professionals are no longer just asking what artificial intelligence is. Instead, they are actively trying to find ways to use these automated tools to improve their daily work and grow their businesses.
The program arrives at a time when companies are heavily prioritizing technology skills during hiring. Data shows that 70% of employers would choose a candidate with proven artificial intelligence skills over someone with more years of experience but no tech training.
Unlike purely theoretical courses, this certificate focuses heavily on everyday workplace tasks. The curriculum covers areas such as deep research, data analysis, project planning, and content creation. Students will also learn “vibe coding,” which allows people to build functional software applications using simple, everyday language instead of writing complicated code.
The online training requires no prior technology or programming experience. It features seven individual courses that take less than 10 hours in total to complete. As part of the program, students complete more than 20 practical activities, allowing them to build a job-ready digital portfolio of projects to show potential employers.
To give students immediate practical experience, Google is including a first-of-its-kind promotion. Everyone who signs up for the course gets three months of free access to Google AI Pro, unlocking the company’s most advanced AI tools.
